I received a B.A. in English from Christopher Newport University, Newport News, Virginia,

M.S. in Education from Old Dominion University, Norfolk, Virginia, Ed.S. in Educational Administration and Leadership from Cambridge College, Cambridge, Massachusetts (VA site) and my Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Liberty University, Lynchburg, Virginia. After 23 years in education I decided to pursue a Master's in School Counseling at Liberty University which I completed in 2019.

I have worked in the public school system since 1996 in the areas of elementary through secondary, regular, advanced, and special education classrooms and also served as a middle school reading specialist for six years. In 2011 I accepted my first administrative position at a high performing high school in VA. Upon relocating to NC in 2016 I began a new journey as Assistant Principal at a high needs high school in Monroe. For two years I served as assistant principal at Stallings Elementary school in that same district. In 2019 I followed my passion and returned to the high needs high school as a Professional School Counselor.

After spending two years as a School Counselor I decided to use the knowledge and experience I have gained throughout my tenure to support students and their families in a more comprehensive manner.  I am currently a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina (#15920 ) and licensed to provide virtual counseling in South Carolina (Credential #512).  I am excited to bring my years of experience and work with middle and high school aged children at Creative Counseling and Consulting, PLLC.
